Tragic Eyes Theatre Company was founded in late 2007. It’s founding members are Lyndel Dowd and Ezara Ahern who have both been involved in the Cork theatre scene for many years now. Their combined theatrical roles range from acting, directing, stage managing and design work. They founded the company after years of talking about it. They decided on the “mournfully named” Tragic Eyes Theatre Company (thank you Irish Times!) after both being involved in the Irish Student Award Winning show No Exit (Granary Theatre, Cork and ISDA Awards, Belfast 2007 ) where the lines “those tragic eyes of hers…” haunted our rehearsals to the point where they were the only words of Jean Paul Sartre in that play (thank you Eoin Winning!).

They have just completed their debut production of the Irish Premiere of Franz Xaver Kroetz’s Stallerhof (Granary Theatre, Cork July 2008 ) . Reviews of the show are available at http://tragiceyestheatre.wordpress.com/.

Their upcoming projects are still TBC as all the members of the company are taking a well deserved holiday from the theatre scene!
